I've lived on the Isle of Wight (IOW) my entire life, where for the last 16 years I've been successfully balancing my education and surfing.

The IOW is a pretty small island off the south coast of England, making it possible to drive from one end to the other in less than an hour. Although it's small, as it's an island, it means there's loads of different breaks that have some fun waves, although pretty inconsistent, which means I travel a lot to train and get on a LOT of ferries.

Like most surfers, I have a huge love of the sea, and genuinely start going insane if I can't go in the sea for a while.

Alongside surfing, I also love skating and have recently been trying to get better- ignoring the millions of injuries I get from it.

I also find that it's really important to get involved in beach cleans to help look after the beaches here as there are so many amazing beaches around the world that've been ruined with plastic pollution, and I want to prevent that from happening here as much as I can.

MY INSPIRATION

I genuinely wouldn't be where I am now without one of my biggest inspirations and supporters, my Dad, Nigel Howell. Without all those insanely long drives to Cornwall and even just around the IOW to find waves, I wouldn't even be able to surf.

My dad is a former world champion windsurfer and shares the same love for surfing as I do, you actually can't get him out of the sea. It would be an insane achievement if I could eventually get the same success as he did.

Some of his achievements include: Multiple years on then PWA Windsurfing World Pro Tour , Wavesailing UKWA Champion, World Champion Windsurf Wavesailing event winner PWA Pro Tour Portugal 1992, and UK Champion Kitesurf Wave Pro Tour 2006.
